After SOLUTION

• Specified a light bar similar to the new wall's architectural detailing by Nordby Design Studio.
• Created a complimentary wash of light accentuating the features in the painting.
• Finished illumination uses 120 watts of halogen lamps expected to live eight-to-ten years.
• Dimmer saves energy and may extend lamps beyond twelve years with no color shift or loss of brightness.

  Before initial PROBLEM

• Without accent lighting, fireplace and painting reflect an "overcast" day.

  Before as INSTALLED

• too much light on top and spilling onto wall
• more energy installed than needed to light right side of painting
• misaimed lights glaring into eyes
• high-contrast aiming does little to enliven composition
